How to dump your firmware

This page shows how to dump your firmware. Mostly used for updating an emuMMC that you want to update offline with Daybreak.

This page includes the steps for dumping device keys as they are required for TegraExplorer to dump firmware files.

Notes

  • Navigate LockPick/TegraExplorer: Use volume buttons (volume down + volume up) for up/down and the power button (Power ico) to use the selected option.

  • Keys location: All .keys dumped will be saved to the /switch/ folder on the micro SD card.

  • Firmware location: Firmware dumped by TegraExplorer will be in /tegraexplorer/Firmware/xx.x.x/. (Where x is replaced with your firmware version)

  • No SD card reader: Remember you can copy files directly over USB, which you should do instead of removing the micro SD card from the Switch.
You should avoid taking out the micro SD card from the Switch unless necessary.
