How to generate and emulate Amiibos

This guide will show how you can generate and use emulated Amiibo aka emuiibo.
The emulated emuiibo generated with Amiigo and emuiigen are the same and can be used from both Amiigo and the emuiibo Tesla overlay. The Emuiibo Tesla overlay module is very convenient as you can change Amiibo while in game.
Reading an emulated Amiibo is functionally identical to reading information from real Amiibo.

Amiigo

You need

• Amiigo - Get Amiigo.nro from the GitHub here

Generate single emulated Amiibo

• You can generate Amiibos while your game is running.

1. Place Amiigo.nro inside of the /switch/ folder on your SD card.
2. Open the homebrew menu by selecting the album icon in your home menu.
3. Launch Amiigo.
4. Select the Amiigo Store tab.
5. From there, select the franchise that your Amiibo stems from, and select your desired Amiibo.
6. Your Amiibo will now be shown in the My Amiibo tab.

Using an emulated Amiibo

1. Press the home button to exit Amiigo, and launch your desired game.
2. Once your game is ready to accept Amiibos, press the home button.
3. Access the homebrew menu again by selecting the album icon in your home menu.
4. Launch Amiigo.
5. Activate your generated Amiibo in the My Amiibo tab by highlighting it and pressing A.
6. Press the home button to exit Amiigo, and go back into your game.
7. Your Amiibo will get activated now.

• Note: Generating Amiibos Offline
  You can generate Amiibos while your device is offline, however you will have to connect your device to the internet in order to update the Amiibo database that contains new Amiibos.

Emuiibo Tesla overlay

You need

• emuiibo - Get emuiibo.zip from this GitHub
• Tesla overlay

File setup

1. From emuiibo.zip copy atmosphere, emuiibo and switch to the root of your micro SD card.
2. Set up Tesla overlay

Using emuiibo overlay

1. Open the overlay and choose emuiibo
2. Enable emuiibo
3. Start the game
4. Navigate to the games NFC feature to use the amiibo and activate it
5. Open the overlay and choose your amiibo (the amiibo will then be connected).
6. The game should now register/make use of it
7. If the game tells you to remove the amiibo, disconnect it.

emuiigen

Emuiigen let's you generate and edit emulated Amiibo files.

You need

• emuiigen - Get emuiigen.jar from this GitHub

Very short instructions

• Start emuiigen.jar
• Choose the Batch generation tab if you want it create many/every Amiibo
• Copy all or only the emulated Amiibo of choice to /emuiibo/amiibo/ on your micro SD card.
