How to verify dumped titles
You can verify dumped titles via one of these two methods, NxFileViewer or DBI on the Switch.
- Supported files: NSP, NSZ, XCI & XCZ
- Dumping titles: You can find the dumping titles page with options and steps here.
- Homebrew menu: There are two methods you can use to access the homebrew menu
- Title override: Hold R while starting a working title in your home menu (recommended).
- Applet mode: Pressing the album icon
Windows PC Method
You need
- Device keys (prod.keys) - See the dumping device keys guide page.
- .NET 6.0 - Get installer for .NET 6.0 here
- NxFileViewer - Get NxFileViewer_x64.zip from its GitHub
Steps
- Run
windowsdesktop-runtime-6.*.*-win-x64.exeand press install to install .NET 6.0. - Create a folder named
NxFileViewerand extractNxFileViewer_x64.zipinside of it. - Place
prod.keys(your device keys) inside of theNxFileViewerfolder. - Launch
NxFileViewer.exe. - Drag and drop your desired dump into NxFileViewer.
- In the main tab Overview, press the green ► button to check the signature and hash of the file.
- The Integrity box will show "in progress", and when it's checked, show:
Original if both Signature and Hash are valid
Incomplete, modified or corrupted if the file is modified or improper in some way. And the title should be dumped again properly.
Switch Method
You need
- DBI - Get DBI from this GitHub
- If you are on MacOS, then please install OpenMTP to enable MTP functionality on your PC.
Steps
- Connect your device to your PC.
- On your Switch, access the homebrew menu and launch
DBI. - Select
Installed gamesfrom the menu. - Select the game you wish to check and press + (plus) for the menu
- Go down to
Check integrityand press A - A good dump will show
[HASH: OK] [SIGNATURE: OK]for all items checked- If you receive a message within DBI that says
[SIGNATURE: Invalid]then the dump is improper.
