How to install OS themes

A short guide for NXThemes installer to install themes made for the Switch HOS.

Notes

• Future warning! Please ensure to uninstall your theme before you update your firmware in the future, otherwise you will experience crashes.
• Boot crash: In case your console doesn't boot anymore due to updating or a bad theme (mostly with szs themes) delete the 01000000001000 folder from the /atmosphere/contents/ folder from your micro SD card.
  When you can boot normally launch the theme installer and select uninstall theme to finish the cleanup process.

You need

• NXThemesInstaller.nro - From NXThemes Installer.

Steps

1. Place NXThemesInstaller.nro in the /switch/ folder on your SD card.
2. Create a folder named themes in the root of your SD card.
3. Create a new folder for your desired theme inside of the /themes/ folder.
4. Place your .nxtheme files inside of the folder you created.
5. Launch the homebrew menu, and launch NXThemes Installer.
6. Scroll down to themes.
7. Select the folder for your desired theme and press A.
8. Press Y and press A to select the theme files you want to be installed.
9. Once you're done, press + to install the selected theme files.
10. Once the installation is done, reboot your device, and your theme will be loaded by Atmosphère.
